Scientific Sensation!

On Saturday 21st September, Ellie and Ant  had a great time delivering a ‘Hands on History’ session all about science. It was the first day of the fantastic ‘Feel the Force’ interactive exhibition, so everyone was in the mood to check out some of the many objects we had on show – from clothes irons through the ages all the way to a 19th-century Japanese fly catching machine (which was ingenious and incredibly humane!). The highlight of the objects had to be the old early 20th Century comptometer, an ancestor of the calculator. Don’t forget to join our Museum Access Assistants, Ellie and Ant, on Saturday 19th October for ‘Drumming it Up’, when they will be bringing out some amazing African drums for you to get hands-on with, to celebrate Black History Month. See you there!
