Here at Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery we are getting excited about the next Hands-On History session, and it’s sure to go down well with children of all ages!
On 15th June, from 11am to 4pm we will be bringing out a number of toys from the museum collection, and you’ll be able to get up close and hands on with all kinds of playthings through the ages and from all over the world. As you can imagine we’ve had a lot of fun exploring the collection to find some of the most interesting toys My personal favourites are two dolls made from bark-cloth ,one of a bird, the other of an small four-legged animal! Both of these toys were made in Southwest Uganda which just goes to show how remarkably diverse our collections are!
Closer to home will be all kinds of more familiar toys on show, from tin lorries to baby dolls. I’m confident there will be something to take you straight back to your childhood. We look forward to seeing you there!
