Sunday 2nd June saw a fantastic turn out for the George Eliot wreath laying. Around 50 people came to participate and watch as flowers were laid and readings were spoken. The museum laid a wreath in memory of the local author.
The wreath laying ceremony is organised by the George Eliot Fellowship and is an annual occasion. A selction of members, associates and councillors are invited to lay a wreath on the obelisk located in the George Eliot Memorial Gardens, Nuneaton. The wreaths are kept on the monument after the ceremony so you still have time to see them if you are out and about in town.
