A big Thank You to everyone who attended our Lunchtime Talk, ‘Ayo Gurkhali, The Nepalese Gurkhas’ on Friday 15 February.
Robert Fleming from the National Army Museum gave a fascinating talk to a capacity audience, outlining the proud heritage of the Gurkha soldiers and gave a taste of what it means to be chosen to serve with them. The museum was also delighted to welcome along Robin Rai. Robin is an ex Gurkha and played a key part in our current exhibition on the Gurkhas’ entitled ‘Bravest Of The Brave.’ Visitors can see this exhibition at the museum until 28 April.
We are currently taking bookings for our next Lunchtime Talk on Friday 22 March. Stephen Dean is the Principle Archaeologist at Staffordshire County Council and he will be presenting a fascinating talk on the discovery and interpretation of the Staffordshire Hoard; the largest single find of early medieval treasure in the British Isles.
This event is FREE but please remember to book your place in advance as places are limited. Call the Museum on 024 7635 0720 or pop in.
