Meeting Middlemarch Pupils

Today sees the end of a busy week at the Museum, as for six mornings we have welcomed six different classes from MiddlemarchSchool. The school celebrates its Centenary this year and as a special treat early in the school year, teachers have arranged visits to learn about the Victorians and George Eliot.  They looked fantastic dressed up in their Victorian style pinafores and waistcoats and handled the Victorian objects with great care.  Their Victorian writing was some of the neatest we’d seen and they showed great imagination picturing themselves inside Victorian paintings.

Some of us were leading our very first school session but we soon forgot our nerves and had a great time.  Thank you very much to all the children and staff who visited us.  We hope you had fun and hope to see you again soon.

Regards from Steph, Linda, Robert and Helen – Museum Assistants.
